TBAGRI – DEVELOPING A SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL VALUE CHAIN

The TBAgri Project is a strategic initiative to establish a wholly foreign-owned enterprise in Cuba, focusing on agricultural production and international trade in the food sector. The project is designed as a 25-year development plan, with its final stage—Phase 4—scheduled for implementation from 2030 to 2050.

More than an investment initiative, TBAgri is a comprehensive undertaking that encompasses in-depth technical and economic feasibility studies. The project is driven by the commitment of the Government of Vietnam to partner with Cuba in strengthening food security, advancing sustainable agricultural development, and fostering long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.

Key Objectives of the TBAgri Project

The **TBAgri Project** aims to strengthen local agricultural production capacity, contributing to greater food supply self-sufficiency and improving the ability to meet growing market demand. Through this initiative, TBAgri seeks to generate positive social impacts by creating sustainable employment opportunities, providing technical training for the local workforce, and promoting advanced agricultural production and cooperation models. At the same time, the project aims to establish TBAgri as a leading enterprise in the agricultural value chain, connecting production, trade, and international markets through an efficient and sustainable supply chain.

Advanced Agricultural Technologies and Cultivation Techniques

TBAgri will adopt advanced agricultural technologies from Vietnam's Mekong Delta, integrating them with international standards in rice research and cultivation. The project targets a rice yield of **5–7 metric tons per hectare**, exceeding the current average productivity. The selected rice varieties include **OM5451, OM8017, and ST25**, all of which are well suited to tropical climate conditions. In the subsequent phases of the project, TBAgri will continue to conduct research and progressively introduce additional high-quality rice varieties into cultivation. This approach aims to enhance production efficiency, increase the value of agricultural products, and support the development of a sustainable agricultural value chain.
